Coin Strike
Coin Strike is one of those games I booted up expecting five minutes and put down an hour later. The whole thing is built around flicking tokens across a board: you pull back, aim, and let go, trying to clear the right pieces before you run out of moves. It sounds simple because it is, but the physics are tuned well enough that every shot feels like a decision.
The one-thumb control is the star here. You can hold the phone in one hand and play the entire game, which is rare and genuinely nice on a crowded train. Levels ramp up slowly, adding walls and moving targets, and the difficulty curve never felt mean. When I missed, it was my fault, not the game's.
We did notice the phone warms up a little during longer sessions, mostly because of the particle effects when you clear a big combo. Dropping the effects setting to medium fixed that without hurting the fun. For an arcade title this light, it runs clean on older hardware too.
What we liked
- True one-handed play that works on the move
- Satisfying, readable physics on every shot
- Runs well on older phones with effects dialed down
